Sonny graduated from Mooresville High School in 1946. He has worked in the construction industry for the majority of his life. Sonny’s work career spans over 7 decades and has involved all aspects of construction activities from initial planning through closeout. He holds 4 U.S. Patents associated with his scaffold locking systems. He also has 1 U.S. Patent Pending associated with a safety locking device for interior scaffolding which has been OSHA accepted.
Sonny continues to be active in the operations of Sunco Construction. He serves as Sunco’s problem solving “think tank” on tasks that would seem impossible to most.

Bryant Hopwood received his start in construction in the Carpenters’ Apprenticeship shortly after graduating from Mooresville High School. Since then, he has managed all aspects of construction associated with projects including commercial healthcare facilities, industrial warehouses, office spaces,as well as residential. Bryant studied civil engineering with an emphasis on construction at IUPUI.
Currently, Bryant fills the role of Quality Control Manager ensuring that quality standards are maintained on all projects completed by Sunco.
Kegahn graduated from Mooresville High School and holds a BS from IUPUI in Construction Engineering Management Technology. Over the last 14 years, he has served as Sr. Estimator and Project Manager for Sunco.
Currently, Kegahn’s key role is to oversee the health of Sunco’s Pre-construction and Operation Teams.
Joni is a graduate of Mooresville High School as well as Butler University with a BS in Communications. She has worked in the construction industry most of her career. Over the past 20 years of her career, she was instrumental in all aspects of the development of 3 subdivisions including business start–up, land acquisition, infrastructure, building phase and closing documents.
Joni heads up our Human Resources, Tax and Insurance Compliance, Audits, Fleet Management, Safety Training as well as other Corporate responsibilities.
Denton graduated from Mooresville High School and continued his education through the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship.
Along with his responsibilities as a Team Lead and On-Site Superintendent, he is responsible for the overall scheduling of Sunco’s Field Operations. This includes making sure that the labor demands for each of our individual jobs are being met, as well as making sure Sunco’s manpower is properly allocated to maximize the production of current projects.

Jason graduated with honors from Ball State University with a BS In Geography/GIS/GPS. As our Lead Estimator, he collaborates with clients, Architects, Engineers and our Sunco Team regarding new and current projects. Jason analyzes specifications, drawings, verbal descriptions, photos as well a contractual terms and conditions to give our clients a comprehensive cost estimate on their project.

Jason comes to us with excellent project management and computer skills. Jason graduated from IUPUI with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. As Project Manager, he is the communication/administration link between the Customer, Sunco and the Sub-contractors.

Melissa is a graduate of Mooresville High School. Before joining Sunco, she worked 16 years at a government sales facility where she worked her way up in the company. She started in the warehouse, moved into account and landed in sales and office management. She utilizes her extensive office training to manage Sunco’s front office. Along her accounting responsibilities, she helps with Project Management of the New Residential Builds.
Melissa’s smile and great personality makes her a customer favorite.
Riley graduated from Mooresville High School and continued his education in the Construction Engineering Management Technology Program at IUPUI. Before coming to Sunco, Riley worked for a large land development and utility contractor as a Project Engineer.
Here at Sunco, Riley uses state of the art architecture software, to bring building ideas to life. Once the floor plans, elevations and renderings of proposed projects are drawn, Riley then completes the process by providing cost estimates to our clients.
Kent is the newest member of our Construction Team as Sunco’s Residential Project Coordinator. If you are looking to do a residential build, Kent will guide you through the process from groundbreaking to handing over the keys to your new home.
Kent is a 1980 Mooresville High School Graduate, who has worked in the construction industry for over 30 years. Golfing and spending time with his family are two of Kent’s favorite things to do.
Damon graduated from Mooresville High School. He currently is in his last year at IUPUI pursing a BS in Criminal Justice.
Damon is our in–house Procore Construction Software expert. He is responsible for data entry into the program and working with clients, employees and subcontractors on interaction with Procore. He also assists our Project Managers with all data entry, prime contract and subcontract generation, submittal management, and other project administration tasks.
Adam graduated from Ben Davis High School and continued his education at Purdue University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture. Adam has worked in the Construction Industry in various roles in Residential and Commercial Management, Sales, and Estimating.
Here at Sunco, Adam will be your first point of contact for your project. He will oversee every aspect from your initial meeting, estimating the project, and managing the on-site construction through to the completion of the project.
In his free time, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children riding their UTV, and enjoying the outdoors.
